Ingredients and spices that need to be Get to make Lahori Paneer:
- For Marination:
- 200 gms Paneer (Cut in Cubes)
- Salt (As required)
- 1/2 tsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder (Or as required)
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds (Crushed)
- 1/2 tsp Ajwain (Crushed)
- 1 tsp Kasuri Methi
- 1/2 tsp Coriander Powder
- 2 tbsp Gram Flour (Besan)
- 2 tbsp Yoghurt
- Sprinkles of Water
- For Gravy: (Grind to a smooth paste)
- 3 Small Onions
- 2 Large Tomatoes
- 4-5 Green Chillies
- 2 Inch Ginger
- 12 Cloves Garlic
- Dry Spices:
- 2 tsp Coriander Powder
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
- Salt (As required)
- 1 tsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder (Or as required)
- 1 tsp Kasuri Methi
- 1 tbsp Yoghurt
- 2 tbsp Cream
- Water (As required)
- 1 tsp Garam Masala
- 2-3 tbsp Oil (For Cooking)
- Whole Spices:
- 2 Bay Leaves
- 2 Cardamons
- 2 Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
Instructions to make to make Lahori Paneer
- If the paneer is store bought, then cut the paneer into cubes and keep in hot water for 5 minutes.


- After 5 minutes, remove from hot water and add it to a mixing bowl. Add all the spice powders mentioned under marination. Mix well so that the paneer gets coated with the masala.



- Add the gram flour and yoghurt. Sprinkle little water and mix well. No need for resting. You can fry it immediately.



- Heat oil in a small kadai. The oil should not be very hot. Fry the paneer evenly on both sides. Fry a few at a time. Remove and set aside.



- In a blender, add all the ingredients mentioned under 'Grind to a smooth paste'.



- Blend to a smooth paste and set aside.

- Heat oil in a large khadai. Add all the ingredients mentioned under whole spices and saute for 2-3 minutes. Add the ground paste and let it saute for 5-7 minutes or till it gets dry and oil appears at the surface.



- Add the dry spice powders and saute for a minute or two.



- Add the yoghurt and mix. Add the cream and mix.



- Add water and cover and cook for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, add garam masala and the fried paneer and let it cook for 2 minutes.



- Delicious Lahori Paneer is ready. Serve it hot with rice, roti etc.
